Corn gluten feed is a by-product from the manufacture of cornstarch and corn syrup. It is a medium protein feed, which contains almost the same Total Digestible Nutrients level as barley. The protein in corn gluten feed is degraded relatively rapidly in the rumen .Corn gluten feed (CGF) is a by-product of the wet milling process. Wet CGF or dry CGF represents an excellent feed stuff that has broad feeding applications in the beef and dairy cattle industries. It contains significant amounts of energy, crude protein, digestible fiber, and minerals.Corn gluten meal is a by-product of the manufacture of maize starch (and sometimes ethanol) by the wet-milling process (RFA, 2008). Corn gluten meal is a protein-rich feed, containing about 65% crude protein (DM), used as a source of protein, energy and pigments for livestock species including fish.Corn gluten meal is a powdery byproduct of the corn milling process. Originally used as a supplement in hog feed, corn gluten has become a common organic alternative to chemically derived herbicides.
